The CEV and Mikasa Corporation have extended their long-term partnership for another four years up until 2024, following a signing ceremony held on Friday late afternoon in Moscow, right at the iconic venue that is currently playing host to the 2019 edition of CEV EuroBeachVolley. The two organisations continue to work closely together to grow the game at all levels, as they both strive for innovation and work hard to modernise the sport. The Copenhagen Grand Slam was for the first time placed on iconic Nyhavn in Copenhagen organized by Danish Volleyball Federation. The Tournament was played 14th-16th June. Thousands citizens and tourists came from all over the country to see beach volleyball at the highest level. It was the tournament recorded the highest number of visitors at all time in the history of beach volleyball tournament in Denmark.Among the 16 registered elite teams, Mikasa’s local distributor A-Sport sponsored 3 best teams in the men’s tournament, and all of them were placed 1th, 2th and 3th, consecutively. Antalya, Turkey, October 24, 2014. The European Volleyball Confederation and Mikasa Corporation announced on Friday the extension of their partnership for another four years, up to 2020. This way the governing body for Volleyball in Europe and the Japanese leading manufacturer will continue their cooperation for the good of the sport for another four years. The agreement was signed on Friday in a special ceremony proceeding the dinner offered by Mikasa to all delegates attending the XXXV CEV General Assembly in Antalya, Turkey. “Mikasa is a long-term partner of our Volleyball family and we are pleased with the extension of our partnership for another four years,” CEV President André Meyer said. “This agreement follows a couple of milestones which have marked the last few months of our cooperation. I would start by recalling that he innovative MVA200CEV, the very first volleyball specifically designed for a continental competition, was officially unveiled last June at the European Volleyball Gala. If last year’s European Volleyball Gala was marked by the launch of the CEV campaign “Fair Play Volleyball Way”, on Friday night Europe’s Volleyball family in attendance at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna got to witness another historic moment. On the stage set up in the former residence of the Habsburg dynasty, CEV President André Meyer and the Corporate Officer and General Manager of Mikasa, Daisuke Akiyama, unveiled the MVA200 CEV, the newly designed ball that will be used in all matches of the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League.
