Sara Hughes was honored as the Rookie of the Year

As full-time participants on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour for the first time, Sara Hughes and her partner Kelly Claes, American collegiate champions from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles finished as one of the top 16 women’s teams on the international circuit by winning 18 of 31 matches at seven events with Hughes being named as the Rookie of the Year and Claes also receiving votes.
