FIVB and Mikasa extend partnership for another Olympic cycle!

Cancun, Mexico, 16 November, 2018 – The FIVB and Mikasa Corporation have announced the extension of their partnership for another four years up to 2024. The agreement between the governing body for international volleyball and one of Japan’s leading manufacturers was signed on Friday in a special ceremony, ahead of the dinner hosted by the FIVB and Mikasa for all delegates attending the 36th FIVB World Congress in Cancun, Mexico.

“Mikasa is a long-term and loyal partner for the FIVB and we are pleased to extend our collaboration for another four years,” FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° said. “Mikasa has supplied equipment for the FIVB since volleyball first appeared in the Olympic programme, back in 1964. We are working closely and it is great to have them joining us now for another Olympic cycle, meaning that Mikasa will be the official ball provider for indoor and beach volleyball events until 2024”.

“Mikasa shares our commitment to raising the profile of volleyball, beach volleyball and snow volleyball worldwide, not only at the elite standard, but at the same time helping us to develop the sport at the grass-roots level, with a primary focus on those countries where there is still much room for improvement. We will continue working hard together to pursue sustained success for our sport,” the FIVB President added.

President of Mikasa Corporation Mr. Yuji Saeki said: “Mikasa Corporation is extremely honoured to extend its partnership with the FIVB and have the opportunity to continue supporting their volleyball and beach volleyball events and we look forward to support the FIVB in development of snow volleyball.
